Thank you very much for being here visiting my portfolio! I’m Hugo although many know me as Brusco. I am an illustrator and passionate about letters based in Barcelona.
I started my own brand named 93URBAN back in 2004, where I worked in web design and online communication, although I always combined it with jobs in advertising. At that time, I was lucky enough to work as an Art and Creative Director in agencies like Ogilvy, HerraizSoto&Co or the BBDO Group.
Already in 2009 I decided that my “personal” brand would focus purely on LowBrow illustration, Sign Painting and in traditional Lettering, there Brusco was born and with it my author facet. Since then I have worked mainly in the motorcycles sector and Kustom Kulture, although my experience in advertising has allowed me to touch many other areas.
Today I combine my work as an Art Director at Maresmenys with my facet as an author drawing what I love or working for my own clients.
My work has been featured in the follow publications:

Lowbrow? WIKIPEDIA SAYS:
LOWBROW [ art movement ]
Lowbrow, or lowbrow art, describes an underground visual art movement that arose in the Los Angeles, California, area in the late 1970s. Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. It is also often known by the name pop surrealism. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor – sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it’s a sarcastic comment.
